It is not often that we encounter exceptional people who are able to work with our 5-year old son, diagnosed with Autism. After attending Saturday playgroups with Sara and Chrissy, our son just seemed so much more calm and relaxed. He also seemed to be better "in-tune" with things at home, playing more with puzzles, and paying more attention to his twin younger brothers. Our son actually pushes them around the house on the tricycle, something he has never done before! Both Sara and Chrissy are a joy to work with, energetic, creative, caring, fun, knowledgable, and just great to work with!

My 3.5 year old son has really enjoyed attending his Saturday playgroup. Sara and Chrissy put a lot of thought into creating a warm environment with fun activities that capture the attention and interest of the kids. As playgroup leaders, Sara and Chrissy are both very caring and insightful individuals. They allow my son the room to explore while encouraging him to develop and initiate meaningful social interactions with his peers. They have also been wonderful at providing feedback and updates on my son’s day, as well as suggestions for things we can try with him at home. I always feel confident that I am leaving my son in good hands when I drop him off for his playgroup. It has been a great experience for us.

I can't say enough about Sara and Chrissy's Saturday Playgroup.  It is way more than a playgroup.  It is similar to a transitional preschool.  The children have free play, circle time, dance time, gross motor play in an incredible gym, snack time, and a goodbye circle.  Sara and Chrissy are incredibly patient and knowledgeable.

We were not clients of Sara or Chrissy before we joined the group.  I saw a posting for the group on one of my Yahoo groups.  I was familiar with Sara's name because parents are posting positive comments about her online all the time.  Since Sara and Chrissy didn't know my daughter, they really took the time to get to know her and to figure out what she likes and doesn't like.  They made accommodations for my daughter's needs.

The ratio of student to teacher is ideal.  In our class, it is 2 students for every 1 teacher.  Sometimes there is a volunteer in the room.  The classes are small and intimate which gives the children a chance to participate in a group setting without it being overwhelming and for each student to receive the appropriate amount of attention and instruction.  After each session, they send an email to each parent with a summary of what occurred in the session, what your child is working on and any successes or challenges.  It is incredibly detailed, thorough and thoughtful.  They pair the email together with pictures (and sometimes video) they have taken in the session.  My favorite photo is my daughter and another student holding hands as they are transitioning from the circle time room into the gym.  You feel as if you have witnessed the session yourself. Both Chrissy and Sara are encouraging and supportive and are always available to talk via email or the telephone.

I couldn't be happier that we found this group.  Our goal is for our daughter to go to preschool/kindergarten and we think this group is a wonderful way for her to practice in a group school-like setting what she has been working on in her home sessions.  In a short period of time, she has made great progress in the group.  My daughter loves the group.  The second the Playgroup room door opens she is sprinting as fast as she can to start playing with Sara, Chrissy and the other students in the group.  It always brings a smile to my face to see her so happy.
